MyStake Chicken is a 5×5 grid mini game from Upgames. Twenty-five covered plates, some hiding a roast chicken and some hiding a bone. You decide how many bones go on the board, then reveal plates one at a time. Every chicken raises your multiplier. One bone ends the round.
It runs at a 99% RTP, higher than almost anything else in a casino lobby, and it lets you set your own risk level anywhere from near-certain small gains to a single 24.75x coin flip. That combination is why it became the game MyStake is known for.
Chicken belongs to the mines family. The mechanic is old, the presentation is not: instead of a minefield you get a grid of covered serving plates, and instead of gems you are looking for roast chickens.
The round works like this. You set a stake and choose how many bones will be hidden among the 25 plates. Press bet, then start revealing. Each chicken you uncover increases the multiplier attached to your stake. You can cash out after any successful pick. Reveal a bone before you cash out and the stake is gone.
What separates the Chicken game from a slot is that nothing is decided for you. The number of bones is your call, and so is the moment you stop. The game supplies the odds; you supply the discipline.

The whole loop takes about fifteen seconds, which is the point. Chicken is built for short sessions, and the tension comes from how quickly the decision arrives rather than from any complexity in the rules.
Chicken sits in the Mini Games section alongside Dino, Plinko, Aero and the rest of the Upgames catalogue.
Anywhere from 0.20 to 1,000 in your account currency. Start at the bottom of that range while you learn how the multipliers behave.
One to 24. This is the single most important decision in the game and it changes both your odds and your multipliers. Full breakdown further down this page.
The grid locks and the round begins. Outcomes are fixed at this moment, before you touch a plate.
Each chicken raises the multiplier. The interface shows what the next successful pick would pay before you commit to it.
The cash out button is live from your first successful reveal. There is no requirement to clear the board.
The board. Twenty-five covered plates, nothing revealed yet.
Difficulty. Set the bone count before pressing bet.
In play. Each chicken found raises the multiplier.
Cashing out. Available from the first successful pick onwards.
A bone. The round ends immediately and the stake is lost.
Almost every MyStake Chicken guide skips this, and it is the part worth understanding, because the multipliers are not arbitrary. They follow directly from the odds.
With 25 plates and k bones, your first pick has a (25 − k) in 25 chance of being a chicken. The game pays 99% of the fair price for that risk, which gives a first-pick multiplier of 0.99 × 25 ÷ (25 − k). Run that across the range and you get the whole table.

The figure quoted all over the internet as the game’s maximum multiplier is simply this formula at its extreme: 24 bones, one chicken, a 4% shot paying 24.75 times your stake. It is not a jackpot feature. It is a coin flip with 25 sides.

Keep revealing and the multiplier compounds, because each successful pick shortens the odds on the next one.

Those figures look spectacular at the end of each row, and that is also where the odds have collapsed. With 10 bones, surviving three picks happens 19.8% of the time and surviving five happens 5.7% of the time. Multiplier and probability move in exact opposition, which is what a 99% RTP means in practice: no bone count is secretly better value than another. They are all worth 99 pence in the pound over the long run. What changes is the shape of the ride.
You will see 10,000 quoted as the game’s maximum, sometimes as 10,000x your stake and sometimes as a currency cap. Sources contradict each other and we are not going to guess. Clearing an entire board at a mid-range bone count produces multipliers in the millions on paper, so a cap of some kind clearly applies. Check the paytable inside the game before planning a session around it.
The bone count is the game. Everything else is execution.
Survival is likely, gains are slow. Reaching 2x takes 13 successful picks at one bone and six at three. Useful for learning the rhythm and for anyone who wants long rounds.
Where most regular players settle. At five bones, three picks pays 2.00x and you get there about half the time. The rounds still last long enough to feel like decisions rather than reflexes.
Two or three picks and you are into meaningful multipliers. At ten bones, three correct picks pays 5.00x, and it happens roughly one round in five.
Effectively a one-pick wager. At 15 bones the first pick pays 2.48x with a 40% chance; at 24 it pays 24.75x with a 4% chance. Nothing wrong with it, but be clear that you are betting on one plate, not playing a grid game.

Every plate is placed by a random number generator at the start of the round. There is no pattern in where bones land, no hot or cold grid, and no sequence of picks that improves your odds. Long-run return is 99% at every bone count, and no system changes that. What strategy can do is control variance and stop you making decisions you would not make with a clear head.
Decide the multiplier or pick count you will stop at, then stop there. Chicken is designed to make you want one more plate, and the one more plate is where the round is usually lost.
Low counts for long sessions with small swings, high counts for short bursts. Switching between them mid-session usually means chasing rather than adapting.
Doubling after a loss is the most commonly recommended Chicken strategy and it fails the way it fails everywhere: a run of losses hits your bankroll ceiling or the 1,000 maximum bet, and one bad sequence removes weeks of small wins. A flat stake at a difficulty paying around 2x gives you most of the experience with none of the ruin risk.
The demo runs identical maths, and twenty minutes there tells you more about how the bone counts feel than any guide can. If you want to analyse something afterwards, analyse your own cash-out timing across 100 rounds. That is where the money actually leaks.
The 99% RTP is the game’s headline and it is genuine: for every 100 staked, 99 comes back across a long enough sample. A typical online slot returns 94% to 96%. One review lists Chicken at 96% to 98% instead, but Mystake offers Chicken with RTP of 99%.
The game is developed by Upgames, outcomes come from a certified random number generator, and MyStake operates under a Curacao licence. Round results are determined the moment you press bet, before you touch a single plate.
It does not make the game profitable. A 1% house edge applied to hundreds of fast rounds still grinds a bankroll down, and the speed of play matters more than the edge itself. A hundred rounds an hour at a 1% edge costs more than ten slot spins an hour at 4%.
Chicken was successful enough that Upgames built a small franchise around it, and MyStake carries the set. They do not share mechanics.
A road-crossing format rather than a grid. Each lane survived raises the multiplier, and the decision to bank or continue arrives lane by lane. Also runs at a 99% RTP.
The sequel build, keeping the risk-reward structure with a different presentation.
The newest entry in the family, worth trying if the original grid has gone stale.
If you like Chicken specifically for the grid, Chicken Cross will feel like a different game rather than a variation on the same one.
The studio behind the Chicken game has a more interesting history than most game credits suggest.
Upgaming was founded in 2014 as an iGaming solutions provider, incorporated in Zug, Switzerland, with its operational base in Tbilisi, Georgia. For its first four years it built platforms rather than games: sportsbook, casino aggregation, white label and turnkey systems for operators.
The mini games came later. Dino launched in 2018 as the company’s first, a crash-shaped runner that went on to be adopted by more than 700 operators. Chicken followed and became the studio’s second signature title. Over the next few years the team developed and tested more than 30 mini games, and in 2023 Aero won Best Crash Game at the SiGMA Europe Awards.
On 16 July 2025 the mini games division was spun out as Upgames, a standalone studio with its own team and catalogue. Chicken, Chicken Cross, Dino, Wingz, Aero, Icefield, Plinko, Teleport, Armada, Dice, HiLo and Keno all sit under that banner now. The company estimates mini games account for 10% to 15% of the global online casino market, which explains the decision to give the category its own studio.
For a player, the relevant part is that Chicken comes from a specialist rather than a slot studio experimenting with a side format, and that the games are certified through independent test labs.

MyStake launched in 2020 and built its identity on exactly this category. While most operators treated mini games as filler between slots, MyStake put them at the centre of the lobby, and Chicken is the clearest example of that strategy working.
Several thousand slots from Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming and Nolimit City. Over 200 live dealer tables from Evolution and Ezugi. A sportsbook covering 35+ sports with in-play betting, plus esports. And the Originals and Mini Games lobby, where the Chicken game sits alongside Dino, Plinko, Mines, Icefield, Aero, Dice and around twenty more.
A single MyStake login and a single balance across casino, live tables, mini games and sport. No separate wallets and no second registration for the sportsbook.
A 300% casino welcome package up to 1,500 in bonus money, a sportsbook welcome offer up to 600, first week cashback up to 300, and a 170% bonus on crypto deposits between 20 and 600. Bonus funds carry wagering requirements, so read the terms before depositing.
Registration takes two to three minutes: username, email, password, your name as it appears on your ID, date of birth, currency (locked once set), address and the promo code. The MyStake login asks for your username rather than your email, which is the most common cause of a rejected sign-in. Verification through Sumsub is required before any withdrawal, including crypto, so completing it early avoids the delay.
The Chicken game has a free play mode running the same maths as the real thing. It is the sensible place to work out which bone count suits you before committing a balance.
Chicken is an HTML5 build and runs in a mobile browser without a download. MyStake has no native app and no official APK, so anything advertised as one is not from MyStake. Add the site to your home screen for a full-screen shortcut.
No wagering. Registration only. Free spins on Sweet Bananas by Axolotl, with winnings from the spins withdrawable up to $100.

Upgames, the mini games studio spun out of Upgaming in July 2025. The same studio makes Dino, Aero, Chicken Cross and Wingz.
A single pick at 24 bones pays 24.75x, the highest single-pick multiplier in the game. Clearing multiple plates at mid-range bone counts compounds far beyond that, subject to a maximum win cap listed in the paytable.
0.20 minimum and 1,000 maximum in your account currency.
Chicken is a 5×5 grid. Chicken Cross is a road-crossing format where each lane survived raises the multiplier. Both are Upgames titles running at 99% RTP.
Between four and eight is where most regular players settle. At five bones, three correct picks pays 2.00x and succeeds around half the time.
No system changes the odds. Every plate is placed randomly at the start of the round and the return is 99% at every bone count. What you can control is your stake size and when you cash out.
Not reliably. Doubling after losses runs into your bankroll ceiling or the 1,000 maximum bet, and a single bad run can erase a long stretch of small wins.
